CME Auction Markets – Enhanced Trading Interface and Revised Auction Schedule

We are pleased to announce that a new, enhanced web interface for CME Auction Markets is now available, athttp://auctions.cme.com. 

While only authorized users may login to enter orders, most of the web interface's capability is free and open to the public.  For example, you can view auctions while they are occurring, monitor prices for auction instruments, and inspect payout characteristics for the different auction instruments.  (If this is your first visit tohttp://auctions.cme.com, you will be prompted to register for My CME, which is free.)

Note to Web ET users:  Web ET will not be available after December.  Web ET users may contact CME to obtain a user ID for CME's web interface which will let you continue to trade in CME Auction Markets.  Please contact Christina Hanson at 312-930-1308 orchristina.hanson@cme.com

We have made some changes to the CME auction schedule.  Effective immediately, the schedule will include auctions on U.S. Non-Farm Payrolls, U.S. Retail Sales (except autos), Core CPI (except food & energy) and U.S. Initial Jobless Claims only.

CME clearing firms who wish to begin participating in CME Auction Markets must execute the Auction Markets clearing agreement.  Complete details are available in Clearing Advisory 05-196, available athttp://www.cme.com../files/Chadv%2005-196.pdf.  Note that it's easy to clear these products since the actual trades in the auction instruments are decomposed into a series of "book-instrument transactions", which appear like ordinary Globex-executed options on cash-settled futures.  For full details about clearing and bookkeeping processing for CME Auction Markets, please see Clearing Advisory 05-133 athttp://www.cme.com../files/Chadv05-133.pdf.
